Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One continues the streak of critical acclaim for Tom Cruise.
As the seventh installment in the Mission: Impossible franchise, the film is receiving some of the highest praise in the series' history, a remarkable achievement for a franchise that began 27 years ago.

While the film's Rotten Tomatoes score is subject to change as the review embargo was lifted on Wednesday night (July 5), it currently stands at an impressive 98% fresh on the review aggregator.
Dead Reckoning Part One surpasses the previous franchise high of 97% set by Mission: Impossible – Fallout, and it far exceeds the lowest point in the series with Mission: Impossible 2, which received a 56% approval rating.

Highlights from other reviews are presented below:

The Wrap

"What better mission could there be this summer other than witnessing our perpetual cinematic maverick deliver yet another full-scale cinematic experience? Should you choose to accept it, of course."

The LA Times

"Dead Reckoning Part One doesn't just rack up the miles in style. Like so many globe-trotting thrillers and big-screen tourist brochures, it's also a gleaming advertisement for Hollywood itself."

Entertainment Weekly

"While the title might feel unwieldy, the film itself is anything but, its nearly three-hour running time passing as quickly as it takes a message to self-destruct."

Hollywood Reporter

"The strong cast, high-gloss production values and constant wow factor of the action offer plenty of distraction from the storytelling deficiencies."

Dead Reckoning Part One concludes with a gripping cliffhanger that sets the stage for Tom Cruise and co-writer/director Christopher McQuarrie in Dead Reckoning Part Two. Considering Cruise's recent remarkable accomplishments, there is a strong possibility that they will deliver an impressive conclusion.
