Gadar 2 sells 17000+ tickets for opening day: Targets Rs 20 crore opening day

The box office is experiencing an absolute frenzy as Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 is selling tickets at a remarkable pace, likened to hot cupcakes, and is poised to secure the second-largest advance bookings of the year, trailing only behind the highly anticipated Shah Rukh Khan starrer, Pathaan. Despite being perceived as a mass-heavy film, the advance trends suggest that Gadar 2 is set for an outstanding opening across all regions.

Gadar 2 has achieved remarkable success in advance ticket sales, with approximately 17,200 tickets sold in the three major cinema chains - PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis - for the opening day alone, as of Thursday at 10 PM. When considering additional chains like MovieMax, MovieTime, and Miraj, the total opening day ticket sales for this Anil Sharma directorial are expected to reach around 25,000 tickets.
Based on the initial movement in advance bookings, Gadar 2 is projected to have an opening day collection of around Rs 25 crore, and there are speculations within the industry that the film may even surpass this figure. The early advance trend at national chains indicates a higher level of audience interest in Gadar 2 compared to multiplex-oriented films like "Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar" and "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani." This interest reflects the strong appeal of Tara Singh's character and his journey to Pakistan once again, making Gadar 2 one of the most anticipated films in recent times.

The excitement and anticipation for Gadar 2 are evident as single screens in CP, CI, and Rajasthan have already started filling up fast, even with more than a week remaining until the film's release. This early demand for tickets speaks volumes about the immense hype surrounding the movie. Gadar 2 seems to be on track to achieve something unexpected, given the initial response to ticket sales.
While it was anticipated that there would be a huge buzz in single screens due to the cult following of the first part released in 2001, the pleasant surprise lies in the bookings at multiplexes. The film is generating substantial interest across both single screens and multiplexes, signaling a potentially massive box office success.
All eyes are now on how the momentum continues in the days leading up to the film's release on August 11. If the pace of ticket sales remains constant, Gadar 2 could become a major box office hit during the Independence Day weekend.
